Magnolia Sustainable Experiences is delighted to announce a formal partnership with Hanoi University, anchored by a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that deepens our joint commitment to sustainable, community-based tourism and talent development. The MoU focuses on two practical pillars: recruitment and promotion. Together, we will open clearer pathways from classroom to career, while showcasing meaningful opportunities for students and graduates to contribute to responsible tourism projects across Vietnam.
A pragmatic MoU for recruitment and promotion
Under the agreement, Magnolia and Hanoi University will co-design an annual recruitment cycle aligned with academic calendars and project needs. This includes curated internship roles, entry-level positions, and research assistantships embedded in real projects - from Pu Luong’s rice-water heritage to circular homestay pilots and coastal resilience in central Vietnam. On promotion, we will collaborate on information sessions, career days, and faculty-led briefings so students receive timely, transparent guidance about roles, expectations, and growth pathways. The goal is to make recruitment equitable and skills-based, while giving students a 360° view of how sustainability principles translate into day-to-day operations in the field.
Building on STRIVE: Train-the-Trainer in Sustainable Tourism (Phase 2)
This partnership also positions Hanoi University and Magnolia to collaborate in Phase 2 of the STRIVE project - a Train-the-Trainer program in sustainable tourism led by Consorzio Interuniversitario ALMALAUREA, alongside Quang Ninh University, Phu Xuan University, and the Academy of Public Administration and Governance. Magnolia’s role will focus on bridging pedagogy and practice: turning competency frameworks into hands-on modules, mentoring student-trainers, and piloting community-led learning in real destinations.
Why this matters - for students, universities, and communities
For students, the partnership offers more than a line on a CV; it’s a pathway to practice-ready skills and mentorship from field practitioners. For universities, it strengthens curriculum relevance, research translation, and international connectivity through ALMALAUREA’s network. The project also positions Tourism as an integral component of a multidisciplinary approach to sustainability, linking economics, culture, and the environment within a shared practice framework. It also strengthens student exchanges between Vietnam and Italy, facilitating two-way mobility, internships, and mutual learning across both academic ecosystems, while expanding research collaboration and career opportunities.
For communities, it means better-trained facilitators who respect local knowledge, measure impact, and co-create products that are culturally grounded and environmentally sound.
If you’re passionate about sustainable tourism—and ready to turn principles into practice—watch for upcoming calls for interns, trainers, and research collaborators. Together, we can cultivate a new generation of tourism professionals who build prosperity with integrity, one community at a time.
